Bentley Raceway and Cable Management CONNECT Edition Help

Manual Route

  1. Select any cable which has failed automatic routing in Cable Manager, and then click on Select Raceway from the ribbon menu.
  2. Select the Routing line from the model
  3. Left click to accept the selection
  4. You will see the raceway parts listed in the Cable Manager.
  5. You will see in preview (red line) the routed connection from source to target object, if you use the Visualize function.
  6. Press right mouse button to exit preview.
  7. If there exist identical routes (cables using same raceway parts), you can copy routing information to the other cables.
  8. Check cable where AutoRouting failed.
  9. Select a Cable , by using the right mouse button you can call up the AutoRouting Entry Points dialog box.
  10. Use the Visualize function at first entry.
  11. Visualization of the possible raceway system for the selected equipment item.
  12. Use the Visualize function at second entry.
  13. In the image below, the bounding sphere does not include any possible raceway system for the selected equipment item.
  14. Set a larger Max Distance, e.g. 5. This expands the area of visualization.
  15. Visualization of the possible raceway system for the selected equipment item.
  16. Repeat the same process for other connections .
  17. Select all the cables from the checkbox and then the Update length from the ribbon, this function will update the cable lengths for all the selected cables.
  18. Select all the cables from the checkbox and then the Cable sizing function will update the cable types and the dimensions for all the selected cables.
  19. Use Update BRCM Database to save to database.
